Nucor reports higher third-quarter earnings and expects steady fourth quarter

Nucor reported $1.32 billion in net earnings, or $5.80 per diluted share, on $11.25 billion in sales for the quarter ended October 3, 2026, compared with $607 million and $2.63 per share a year earlier. Steel mills and steel products earnings increased from the second quarter, while raw materials earnings declined; Nucor expects fourth-quarter earnings to be generally in line with or modestly higher than the third quarter. The company returned approximately $629 million to shareholders during the quarter, including $501 million in share repurchases and a $128 million dividend payment.
