MAA to Redeem Series I Preferred Stock for $50 Per Share on October 1

Mid-America Apartment Communities will redeem all outstanding 8.50% Series I preferred shares for $50.00 per share plus accrued dividends on October 1, 2026, after paying the regular $1.0625-per-share quarterly dividend on September 30 to holders of record on September 15. MAA plans to fund the redemption with proceeds from a forward sale agreement under its ATM program, initially priced at $130 per common share, and expects the transaction to reduce preferred dividends, simplify its capital structure and be accretive to Core FFO per share.
