Packaging Corp. of America reports lower Q2 EPS and raises Q3 outlook

Packaging Corporation of America reported second-quarter 2026 net sales of $2.49 billion, net income of $192.1 million, and diluted EPS of $2.15, compared with $2.17 billion, $241.5 million, and $2.67 in the prior-year quarter. Excluding $23.7 million in special items, EPS was $2.35 versus $2.48, while the company forecast third-quarter EPS of $2.91 excluding special items, citing strong packaging demand, higher prices, and lower maintenance outage expenses, partly offset by elevated freight and recycled-fiber costs.
